1. Use the Slider tool to construct sliders a, b, and c. Set the slider values to a=1, b=0, and c=0.
2. Graph the parent absolute value function y=abs(x). Right click the function and use the Object Properties window
to show the Name and Value. Change the line thickness under the Style
tab.
3. Graph the general absolute value function y=a*abs(x-b)+c. Right click the function and use the Object Properties window
to show the Name and Value. Change the line color under the Color
tab.
4. Let a=1 and b=0. Change the value of c and describe the resulting graph.
5. Let a=1 and c=0. Change the value of b and describe the resulting graph.
6. Let b=0 and c=0. Change the value of a and describe the resulting graph.
7. Make a conjecture relating the values of a, b, and c to the graph. Test your conjecture.
